Our Vision is to create an ecosystem of tools that enhance biomechanics understanding, optimize movement efficiency, and reduce pain.

Whether you're weightlifting, playing tennis, running, or even engaging in everyday exercises like walking to a coffee shop, working in front of a laptop, or sleeping in bed, our tools will help you achieve your goals with greater efficiency and comfort.

Our Story:

During her childhood, Rebecca was often taken to her mother's clothing prototype studio and her family friends' merchandise factories on weekends. Fascinated by the machines, patterns, and designs in these environments, she has always believed that clothing had greater potentials beyond serving as mere fashion statements, protective wear, or coverings.

As Rebecca got older and became more interested in fitness, she came to the realization that comprehending one's body is a challenging task, especially when attempting to quantify its state into data. She noticed this during her time on Georgia Tech's boxing team, where she had an elite personal trainer overseeing her weightlifting workouts and a world champion boxing coach overseeing her boxing practices. Despite the intensive coaching, she still experienced discomfort such as sore knees, overexerted shoulders, and lingering back pain. These issues left her with a desire to find a way to quantify and measure her body's movements, to gain deeper insights into what was happening with her body.

With these questions in mind, Rebecca joined Exoskeleton and Prosthetics Intelligent Controls Lab, where she was supervised by first-year PhD student Ben. During her time as a researcher, she gained extensive knowledge in human anatomy, kinesiology, joint torque, biosensors, and neuromuscular models.

Today with the mission of helping athletes at all levels grow in the safest and most efficient way, Rebecca founded Calcu. Combining the latest biosensor technology with the apparel industry, Calcu integrates sensors into sportswear and is working on a solution that can monitor users' weight lifting workouts to a minute level, which may not be apparent to the naked eye. This technology enables users to evaluate their symmetry, technique, tempo, and other factors, assisting them in making informed decisions about their training.
